History:

Warren Kenneth Worthington III was born, almost literally, with a silver spoon within his outh. The only son to a powerfull and proud family, Warren had a very happy yhildhood...although that in no way means that it was the best he could have had. His father was very successful, being the head of a large and successful cooproration, even being admited to the Hellfire Club and was thus, always very very busy with work...and during the few times they family had together, Warren was sublty reminded that he -was-a Worthington. However, Warren still was fairly happy. He enjoyed his life immensily...popular and athletic, he was the envy of his posh private school, never for want of a date. Yes, everything was going smoothly for the young Worthington...

It was during Warren's third semester at college that his life was changed irrevocably forever. He had always known that he was better... physically... than the next person, but had always chaulked that up to superious genes and a heatlhty active lifestyle. And so, he found it odd that he was finding small feathers in his bed...but he just tallied that up to some bizarre practicle joke by his best friend and roommate, Cameron Hodge. But then..imagine his horror has he found the true source. How he, the proud son and heir to the powerfull Worthington family empire discovered on his back... wings. They were small, at first, and easily hidden from his peers, although some raised eyebrows at the sudden change in their friend. He had stopped playing racquetball with them...started wearing jackets...the only one that Warren dared confide in was Cameron Hodge, who unbenowest to the young Worthington, hated him and was a wolf in sheep's clothing, waiting for a chance to maniupulate and eventually destory him. But Warren trusted him...and the wings grew, and grew quickly. Soon, they had reached their full size and Warren was forced to be come more adept at hiding them. Life was, he felt, unbearable...cursed with a mutanthood his father would see as a personal fault. And then...and then it all changed.

A fire broke out in the dormitory at the University, in the lower levels. Without even truly thinking about his actions, he lept out of the window...but did not fall. Instictivly, his wings burst from his nightshirt, and he expereianced for the first time true flight. Not aided by mechancial means, but by his own beautiful wings... the elation was shortlived, however, shattered by the screams for help. Donning his bedsheet and a wig left over from a party to protect his identity, he was able to save several people... And the next day, word of the angel that saved several people from certain death... Warren heard them, and smiled.

Very soon, he fashioned the identity of the Avenging Angel and attepted a breif foray into fighting crime, although truly he did't know what it meant to be a hero. Later, he shortened his 'heroic' name to simply Angel...and ready to make a name and legend for himself, even given that he only made a few brief forays into public life. It was during this beginning time of adventuring that Angel's life changed a little more. Although they had little of a relationship, Warren was devestated to learn that his father finally collapsed under the pressure of his business, meeting his end in a fatal heart attack. Worthington Enterprises will, untill the younger Worthington is ready to assume the mantle of leadership, be run by a small board, having been appointed shortly after the death of the Senior Worthington. Warren has found himself the head of the Worthington Estate, as his mother has no interest in running such things, content to live off the wealth. And so now Warren finds himself in control of his life. With gifts both social and physicall, he's out to meet whatever the future might bring, ready...he thinks...to meet the challenges that life might throw at the high flying Angel!
