History:

Rogue lived with her father in Cadlecott, Mississippi for most of her life. Her mother had died when she was born, although it was later revealed that her real mother is Mystique, although this not has been confirmed by any sort of test. Mystique's story is that she switched Rogue with another baby that had died during birth.

Rogue had a relatively normal childhood, but most of the people in her life were male, and so she became something of a tomboy. Her best friend was a boy named Cody, and eventually the two learned to care for each other in a more than friendly way. However, a single kiss at the age of 15, her very first, turned their lives upside down.

Rogue is a mutant with the ability to absorb the lifeforce of other people or mutants upon skin contact, temporarily transferring their memories and personalities and skills to her. When she and Cody shared their first kiss, her powers became active for the first time, putting Cody in a coma as a result.

The southerner ran from her home, unable to bare what she had done, or the hatred and pain that it had resulted. For a year or so she lived by whatever means she could, eventually making her way to New York City where she thought she could blend in.

She had been keeping herself covered, but a run in with a mugger and the police resulted in Rogue absorbing both the mugger and a policeman at the same time. She ran, and the police wanted her for questioning. Rogue became publicly known, when that was the last thing she wanted to happen. However, she made friends with the Cajun thief named Remy, and the two eventually fell in with the X-Men.

Almost a year after, and many adventures and misadventures later, Rogue left the X-Men, when her relationship with Remy finally came crashing down for good. She had found out about Mystique, and went to live with her mother. For a while, she became bitter and mean. She even threatened Remy's new girlfriend a few times. Then, after Remy broke up with Natalie, it seemed that they might reconcile. Rogue decided that she wasn't ready, however, and went off to travel in Europe, funded by her mother.

Rogue has done many things since she's been back. She eventually joined with her Mother's group, the Brotherhood, after discovering that they weren't as bad as they were originally, or at least not as much as she thought they were.

One of the most startling things that has happened to her, was the absorption of fellow Mutant and former friend Monet St. Croix. Monet had joined the OMA since Rogue last saw her. Monet attacked Mystique while on a mission for the Brotherhood. Rogue stepped in, and somehow, no one is exactly sure how, she absorbed Monet permanently. She ran. She doesn't know what happened to Monet, but now she has an alternate personality, and a few extra powers.

Rogue continues to work with the Brotherhood. She has managed to become even more publicly known, however, including her new powers.
