History:

Robbie is originally from Springfield, New Jersey, where he spend most of hi s uneventful life living in the suburbs with his mother Madelyn Baldwin and fath er Justin Baldwin. His father was the local district attorney, and his mother w orked back and forth from being a stay at home mom and a budding actor with some of the local theatre productions. When Robbie was 14, his mother got her first major acting job in New York wi th a walk-on role in a new soap opera. Since the part slowly got bigger and star ted taking her away from the family in New Jersey, her relationship with Robbie' s father began to get somewhat strained. By the time he was 16 his parents final ly ended their marriage, with Robbie staying in New Jersey with his father, and his mother continuing her now very popular acting career in New York City. Shortly after the divorce, Robbie started experiencing headaches and an incr eased metabolism. Because his father was very involved with some of the worst ca ses the area had seen in about 20 years, Robbie kept things hidden from his fath er and dealt with things on his own. Right around this time he started taking an avid interest in radio and television, and used the high school audio visual cl ub to start working on some independent projects, using the media as an outlet f or his budding creativity. Robbie didn't know what was causing the headaches until shortly after his 17 th birthday, when he tripped on his way down the stairs into the basement. In t he split instant before he hit the stairs and began to fall, his mutant powers f irst manifested. A cushion of 'bubbles' emerged from his skin and absorbed the i mpact from his fall, shielding him from harm. He quickly ricocheted back up from the floor and hit the wall of the basement, activating his field further. At th is point his entire body became surrounded by swirling balls of different colors , each of them giving off a very subtle light. He continued to rebound around th e basement until he managed to grab ahold of one of the basement support pillars near the stairs, eventually slowing himself. Once he stopped, the field quickly dissapated and left him disoriented and bewildered, slumped on the floor of his basement. As time went on, Robbie eventually figured out that the field was caused by any sort of impact with his body. He had a few close calls at school with his po wers, and became very careful of not bumping into anything. Luckily he managed t o keep them mostly under wraps and kept them secret from his father as well as h is friends and classmates at school. Right around this time he began to get a bi t more distant from everyone, something that would eventually grow deeper as tim e went on. A few months after the basement incident, Robbie's father was given the case of a lifetime. A local businessman was arrested for drug trafficking, and was t ied into a few members of the mafia that were rumored to be headquartered in nea rby New York. The case was a landmark case in the area, and Robbie's father was the prosecuting attorney. After two months of juries and hearings, the businessm an was pronounced guilty and sentenced to a lengthy jail term at a state peneten tiary. At the day of the sentencing, the man was taken out of court as he threat ened Robbie's father. Shortly after the final sentencing, Robbie and his father were sitting down to dinner. A black sedan driven by some associates of the New York mafia drove b y the Baldwin's home and opened fire with automatic weapons. Robbie's powers sav ed him, but did nothing to help his father, who was shot numerous times and was dead long before EMT's arrived on the scene. Because of the fiasco in New Jersey and his father's murder, Robbie moved to New York to live with his mother. Since he was already out of high school and i n transition, he decided to pursue some freelance work in New York for web desig n and for video production. He has also vowed to use his powers to find out who had his father killed, and to do whatever he can to bring them to justice and ma ke sure nothing like that happens again.
