History:
Rachel was born to a lower class family in upstate NY. Her father was a truck driver and because of which she was forced to remain home with her mother and rely on her as the sole parent in the two child family. The other child referred to was Rachel's younger brother Mike. Mike was a good brother and not nearly as annoying as many tend to be. Instead he served as the brunt for her mother's verbal abuse and frustration over their father.
Rachel's mother worked from nine till five Monday through Sunday as a beautician at a local mall. It was always a great source of embarrassment for Rachel to have to present her mother on carrier day as a hairdresser but without failing class there was little option to those assignments. Being a hairdresser was not the worst thing about Rachel's mother either. In addition to this embarrassment Melissa was also an abusive parent. Never seeing any of the good that any of her children would do and constantly taking out her hatred for their father upon them. It was almost unbearable and pushed Rachel to leave home as often as she could.
When Rachel did manage to get out of the house she would go to the clubs. There were several not more than a thirty minute skateboard ride away and the owners were such letches that they would let any girl in, no matter what age they appeared. Luckily Rachel made friends quickly with several of the larger and more violent members of the clubs; Shadow, Dennis, and Jason were always willing to stand up for her and make sure that people didn't over step their welcome.
With a small collection of friends and a place to go Rachel started to redefine who she was. She no longer saw herself as the product of her mothers failed dreams but instead as a person who could do what she wanted be cause she desired to. This new affirmation prompted her to seek out a job so that she could live away from her mother.
After her twenty-first birthday she left home and to the money she had saved from working at Hot Topic and moved into Jason's apartment. It was what she had waited for all her life, to finally be free of her mother. This was unfortunately the end of her normal life.
Soon after moving into Jason's apartment Rachel was taken to a club in western NY. Piranha, as it was called, was the best club Rachel had been to in most of her life and was astonished by it. Moving around the place, dancing, drinking, and having a good time she passed the time into the late night. As the night started to drawl to a close she found herself on the dance floor with a rather loud techno theme being played in the background.
As the music continued she closed her eyes and let her body be carried away by the music. Only Jason saw what was happening. As Rachel danced her clothing and hair started to move about her by some unseen wind, twisting and turning with the beat. Noticing that this could cause a problem Jason moved forward to warn her and get her to stop so that others would not notice. As he reached out and grabbed hold of her, a tremendous explosion rocked the club and brought it crashing to the ground.
Most of the people from the club were injured and all those downstairs were killed, all except Rachel, who was left to live with the knowledge that she was the cause of such destruction.

rather young, not much more than sixteen. Despite what her ID mite
say she often has trouble getting alcohol or into some of the
tighter clubs.
Strength level: Average for a woman of her height,
which is rather small, but does show to be in good health from
regular exercise.
Known superhuman powers: Although the true nature of
her power is not known, even to herself, Rachel has the ability
to control kinetic energy. She can move it around, control small
objects and even store it within herself, although the long term
results of this are not yet known.
Other abilities: Rachel is an accomplished club
hopper and can mingle in with most any members of the Goth,
techno or industrial crowds. She is also a good dancer and
moderately skilled at sewing, not to mention knowing what's in
stock and on sail at Hot Topic.
Weapons and paraphernalia: You can always count on
Rachel to have at least one glow stick on her at any one time.
