History:

Pris was born and grew up in Brisbane, Australia, christianed Isobel Priscilla Luther. The oldest of four children, she was a reasonably happy and normal, if somewhat tomboyish, individual. One day, when she was 13, she simply woke up to find her eyes changed from their original dark brown. She was, of course, teased, and called a freak. The rift between herself and everyone she knew made her more withdrawn, increasingly bitter and sarcastic. After a later incident, she decided she'd had enough, packed her things, and left home without a backward glance. Her parents didn't try to stop her, but her father did give her a little money, to help her to begin with.

She lived on the streets, quickly discovering she had quite a talent, through her abilities, for theft, and for escaping when she was caught at it. It was after one of these chases that she was caught by a man - a thief, she later came to know. He wanted to train her as his assistant, since she seemed to have such skill. Pris leapt gleefully into the arrangement and the training, developing a fair infatuation on the man - named Joel - in the process. After a year of training, he started taking her on jobs with him, until eventually they were working as a pair. Joel still did the organising of jobs though, and it was in this process that he was picked up by the police, tried, and sentenced to 20 years maximum security imprisonment. At 17, Pris was alone again.

She moved to Sydney, got some dark brown contact lenses, and took a day job as a waitress in a crummy little cafe to cover for her second life, at night. For her thieving, she took the moniker of "Feline" and made certain to keep her identity secret. It didn't protect her from one disgruntled victim, though, whose flunkies tracked her down, tied her up and delivered a very public warning to all those who would consider preying upon him - a lesson delivered with a cat-o'-nine-tails, the traditional whip used on convicts in Australian history.

It was a pivotal point in her life, and her inability to fight back spurred her to rectify this weakness with martial arts training, concentrating fiercely at improving herself. Working diligently at both her jobs, she began in the next four years to build up a decent amount of money. Not even the most careful of cats could tread without being heard for so long, however, and when she was 21, her name started appearing on wanted notices. After barely escaping a police setup, she decided the time had come to try her luck elsewhere.

She left Australia on a flight to Frankfurt. Isobel Luther disappeared somewhere over Abu Dhabi, but Pris Carnelian (for her favourite gemstone) arrived in New York, curious to see what the land of opportunity held for her. And especially interested in these vague mentions she'd seen of other people with interesting abilities. People who sounded a bit like her...

Height: 5'10" Weight: Slightly less than average
Eyes: Dark brown Hair: Black
Unusual physical characteristics: When she's not wearing her contacts, her eyes are bright blue with cat-slit pupils.
Strength level: Average for a fit person of her build.
Known superhuman powers: "Witnesses describe the subject leaping great heights or distances, falling some distance without apparent harm, running or balancing on slippery, narrow or high places, twisting and contorting her body and in one instance, apparently growing 'claws'. The reliability of these witnesses must be called into question, however, due to heightened circumstances, dark and in the latter example, fear. The unlikely nature of the abilities canvassed also suggests some exaggeration has taken place." (From the Australian police file on "Feline".)
Other abilities: She is skilled in the tools of her trade - moving silently, breaking and entering, disabling alarms, getting through electronic locks and safe-cracking. She also has a fair skill in martial arts.
Weapons and paraphernalia: Pris' handbag contains all sorts of damning evidence like lipstick, wallet, tissues, keys... Feline, on the other hand, never leaves the house without a full array of lockpicks, glass- and wire-cutters, electronic 'skeleton keys' and other equipment. As for weapons - she is a walking weapon, and has no need of additional assistance in that regard.
Other notes: Her back is scarred badly from the whipping she received, and she has a tendency to flinch away from sudden contact in that area.
