MEDUSA

Real name: Meghan Stone
Occupation: Head of the legal department at Sin Industries, personal Legal Advisor to Mr. Milbury
Identity: Meghan is the only person who knows about her status as a mutant. The phrase "only her hairdresser knows for sure" doesn't even apply - Meghan doesn't let anyone know about her abilities.
Legal status: United States Citizen with no criminal record
Other aliases: "Medusa" is a code-name she would use to protect her identity, but since she's never used her powers openly before, she hasn't used it yet. As far as nick names are concerned, Ms. Stone will do. Calling her "Meg" or "Megs" or anything like that is a surefire way to annoy her.
Place of birth: Unrevealed
Marital status: Single, not looking
Known relatives: Meghan's father, Maxwell Stone, is the president of Stone and Associates, which was recently taken over by Sin. Her mother is still alive, playing the role of a socialite's wife.
Group affiliation: Meghan isn't a team player. At all. The only way she'd join a team is if it benefited her in some way.
Base of operations: Sin Industries
First appearance: April, 2001
History:

Meghan Stone is the only child of Maxwell and Vivian Stone. Although Maxwell had hoped for a son, he lavished attention on his daughter and spoiled her from an early age, becoming even more doting when she began to show signs of early development - beginning to talk at age 2 and read at age 3. Meghan was home schooled by the finest tutors that her father's money could buy. She studied literature, history, science, mathmatics and foreign language as well as ballet and later jazz dancing and karate. Her parents were often away on business, and Meghan didn't have many friends growing up. When she got to be about eight, her father would occasionally bring her into work with him and talk with her about how business worked. Most kids would have been bored to tears, but Meghan ate the stuff up. Her father turned out to be a far better teacher than her tutors or trainers ever were. From her father, Meghan learned how to charm the heck out of clients and how to deal with employees and show them who was in charge. Most importantly, Meghan's father taught her to be ruthless - that survival was key, and that she should always look out for herself before she looked out for others.

By the time she was sixteen, Meghan had completed her high school education with private tutors and shortly before her 17th birthday, she was accepted to Harvard. Her acceptance was due to the quality of the tutors who instructed her, as well as the fact that her father was a Harvard graduate who's donated a considerable amount of money over the years. After four years to aquire her bachelor's, Meghan went on to three years at the Harvard Law School where she aquired her Juris Doctor degree. She graduated Harvard at age 23 and was immediately given a job at her father's law firm, Stone and Associates. The job was cushy to say the least: an upper mannagement position with a large pay check and a small list of things she had to do. Because Meghan was just "the president's daughter," no one expected her to actually succeed. But she did. Meghan showed a lot of hard work and dedication to the firm, and uncovered several embezzlement schemes, saving her father about half a million dollars. She was promoted to VP by age 26 and proved to be a stern negotiator and a damned good lawyer. Her father made sure she was present at every business deal.

Every business deal except for one... Recently, just after Meghan's 27th birthday, her father received an offer from Nathan Milbury, the president of Sin Industries. A very lucritive offer to buy out Stone and Associates and use it as the law form for Sin Industries. Meghan would be promoted to head of the legal department for Sin, and Stone would retain his position as president of Stone and Associates, and still have limited control over the company. The offer was too good to refuse, and Stone accepted without consulting with his daughter. Meghan learned of the merge by reading the same memo as the rest of the firm, and she was outraged. Meghan demanded that her father explain himself. He told her to take the matter up with Mr. Milbury, which is exactly what she did. Meghan stormed into Milbury's office and demanded that he disclose the full details of the merge. Instead of answering her directly, Milbury offered her a position as his personal legal advisor (which was the title he intended to eventually offer her anyway). Meghan then demanded that in addition to her new title, she be granted full control over Stone and Associates. Under her terms, her father would still be the president in title, but to make up for the fact that he had made a decision without consulting with her, he would no longer be able to make any decisions about Stone and Associates. Meghan's control would be silent and absolute - her father would simply sign the memos. The request was granted, and Meghan came to have the position she currently holds at Sin.

Meghan's powers fully manifested when she was about fourteen years old. It wasn't anything life-changing or even terribly dramatic. Since age 10, she'd noticed that her hair was very sensitive and wouldn't let anyone brush it other than herself. She also noticed that it rarely got tangled and often stayed in place a lot better than hair has a right to on windy days. Meghan wore her hair long - almost to her butt. One day, when Meghan was fourteen, she was studying English in her room around dusk. While Meghan continued reading, the room grew darker. Eventually, Meghan found that she was having trouble seeing the words. No sooner had she realized this than the lights in her room was turned on. Meghan turned towards the door, expecting to see Trudy or another of the housekeepers by the light switch. Instead, what she found was that a section of her hair had stretched out over to the nearby light switch and turned the lights on. As soon as Meghan saw what had happened, the hair went limp again. She experimented and found that with enough concentration, she could control the movement of her hair. As she practiced more and more, she had to concentrate less and less, and soon she could move her hair just like she could move her arms. She could also perceive sensation from her hair, although it wasn't quite the same as a sense of touch. As Meghan's abilities with her hair improved, she found things easier to do - brushing her hair became obsolete since she could smooth it out without ever lifting a finger. Meghan learned to perform intricate tasks with her hair, including how to pick locks. Meghan never used her powers openly, however. And although she no longer cut her hair, she always kept it pulled back and tightly coiled so that it looked like a normal amount of hair. Meghan hasn't told anyone about her power, nor has she used it openly, so her identity as a mutant remains a closely guarded secret.

Height: 5'11" Weight: Average, let's leave it at that.
Eyes: Green Hair: Bright red and 6 feet long when relaxed (up to 12' when extended)
Unusual physical characteristics: Although Meghan has 6-12' of hair, she usually wears it up in a bun, and coils it in such a way as to make it appear like a normal amount of hair.
Strength level: Meghan posesses the strength of a woman her age who engages in intensive regular excercise. Her hair, however, can lift one and a half tons.
Known superhuman powers: Meghan can control every strand of her super-strong, super-long red hair. She can use it to lift things, as well as perform intricate tasks such as picking locks. Meghan can perform numerous tasks with her hair, but only a few can be performed at once. Meghan also receives tactile sensation from her hair via the psionic force that runs between the strands and animates it.
Other abilities: Meghan is a damned good lawyer and an excellent negotiator/schmoozer.
Weapons and paraphernalia: Meghan has a laptop, palm pilot and cellular phone which keep her in constant contact with Sin Industries. Meghan also has a variety of interesting hair accessories - clips, pins, etc. - which she could use as weapons.
Other notes: Meghan is cold, emotionless and heartless. Any show of compassion or good naturedness is probably just an act she's using to get your guard down, so watch yourself in her presence.
