LONGSHOT

Longshot is set available due to the disappearance of the player for several months. He did not RP and some of his background may be up for reinterpretation, but should stick pretty close to this model and what was revealed in the logs (at bottom of page). Also, you'd have to come up with a reason for his absence, which could be an interesting exercise in itself. Real name: Longshot
Occupation: Vagabond
Identity: Unknown even to Longshot himself
Legal status: There are no legal records of Longshot; it is as if he doesn't exist.
Other aliases: None as of yet
Place of birth: Unknown
Marital status: Single
Known relatives: None
Group affiliation: None
Base of operations: Nomadic (at current)
First appearance: September, 2000
History (first person):

I slowly open my eyes. My head hurts, why does my head hurt so badly? Ugh, feels like a truck hit me. I look around to examine my surroundings, and find myself in a pile of garbage in an alley somewhere. Where the hell am I? And why am I here? For that matter, who am *I*?!? What's my name!? Why can't I remember my name!?! Oh God, I'm so scared!

I reach into my pockets, digging, hoping to pull out something that'll give me a clue as to who I am, and why I'm here of all places.

BINGO! A piece of paper, let's hope it says something useful. It was crumpled in my pocket, so I flatten it out as best I can to read it. In a woman's handwriting it reads as follows:

Longshot,

Everything you need or need to know can be found in locker #364 at the Stanton Island Bus Station.

So I have a locker with all my answers, but do I have a key? I search my person trying desperately to find a key, all I succeed in finding is a set of throwing knives hidden under my coat. Now I really want answers. I decide that I'll find someway of opening the locker when I get there, and I head out for the station.

When I get there, I use one of my knives to pry open the locker when no one is looking. It opens surprisingly easy, why do people put things in here if someone else can open them so easily? Inside I find $1000, and a single newspaper article. I quickly stuff the money into my pocket, and grab the article. I head out of the station before I get in any trouble for the locker.

I take a break in a park near the station and sit down to read the article.

It's about a convention of geneticist discussing the problem of mutants. It just recently took place at Columbia University, apparently it was pretty important. There were two names that were mentioned repeatedly in the article, a Prof. Charles F. Xavier, and a Dr. Moria McTaggert. Maybe whoever left this for me is trying to tell me that they are allies and I should seek them out. Looks like I'm heading to this Columbia University, maybe they're still there. I hope $1000 will cover bus fees.

Height: 5'11" Weight: 60 lbs.
Eyes: Yellow Hair: Blond
Unusual physical characteristics: Longshot has hollow bones like a bird, though you wouldn't be able to tell it merely by looking at him. His left eye glows whenever his powers are activated, and only then. Each hand has only 3 fingers and a thumb, because of this Longshot often keeps his hands in his pockets when he is out in the public eye. Outside of that though, Longshot is what most would consider extremely handsome for a young man.
Strength level: Longshot possesses the strength of a normal man his age, height, and who weighs around 160 lbs., and exercises on a regular basis.
Known superhuman powers: They call Longshot the Lucky One because where ever he goes, luck seems to follow, of course, so does bad luck. Longshot also possesses the occasional gift of future sight and premonition. Both powers have unfortunate flaws to them, not to mention the fact that Longshot has yet to grasp control of them. But perhaps in the future he will learn to wield them as well as he does any other weapon.
Other abilities: Longshot is highly skilled in several more questionable arts, such as lock-picking, stealth, and small explosives. But his most developed skill he keeps hidden under his coat, his throwing daggers, with which he can be deadly accurate. He also is an extraordinary acrobat and natural gymnast.
Weapons and paraphernalia: Throwing Daggers he always keeps on a holster which he hides under his leather coat.
