History:
Born August 4, 1987 to Padraig and Aisling Boru in a small city somewhere in County Galloway, Ireland. However, he only lived there for a few years before his parents took him and his 3 older brothers to New York City where his father had accepted a position teaching Physics at New York University. However, his grandmother on his mother's side refused to allow them to move without her.
Once they arrived in New York City, his mother took a position teacher Third Grade in the Upstate area, this left Kieran at home with his grandmother a lot while he was really young. She wound weave tales about Cuchulain, Oisin and Niamh, and other heroes from the history of Ireland. She planted the seeds of enjoyment of the history of his people. She was the one who suggested he begin Ceili Dancing at an early age.
When he was eight, his mother became friends with a gymnastics teacher and enrolled Kieran in the class. This was Kieran's main introduction to being around other kids his own age. Some teased him because of his accent, while it caused others to seek him out as a friend. It was also when his parents decided to enroll him in a real school instead of being home-schooled.
For the most part he led a fairly ordinary life, living from day to day drifting more and more to the outside of the society at school. Finding comfort in his few friends that remained loyal to him despite the increasing gap between his interests and the popular ones. He learned to hide his faults from people so he seemed self-assured and didn't get picked on over time.
He slowly retreated into this shell, so that at first his family didn't realize what was happening and when they did, they simply passed it off as phase. However, Kieran was retreating into his shell and became shy and withdrawn from anyone but his closest friends.
When he was 12, his mutation began exhibiting itself. His eyes, which had always been silver, began radiating a soft silver light, after his only younger brother shocked him. The shock had triggered his internal battery supply and also his mutation which had been waiting to surface. Only he realized what happened because his little brother ran away laughing. If the feel of energy being converted in his body wasn't a clue, when he went to touch the door a spark of energy went from his hand to the knob.
It wasn't until he was in the hall that his grandmother picked up on the change in her eldest grandson. While she was a low level tele-empath, none of her own children had shown any signs of mutation, nor had any of the other grandchildren.
Around his 13th birthday, She discreetly suggested to his father that he begin attending Tai Chi in order to learn control over his breathing. She said it would help with his gymnastics skills. So Kieran began learning the art of Tai Chi, but in doing so began learning more about his powers. For Tai Chi is based on the flow of energy and he was beginning to learn how to draw power in from touching something electrical.
He doesn't know anything about his grandmothers powers, nor that she would even accept a mutant grandchild. His parents have just assumed he's going through a phase but do not suspect that he's a mutant as besides the small incident with his brother, he has never displayed his powers around them.

someone who practices continually in gymnastics.

Kieran's powers is that he can absorb electricity and release blasts of
electricity.
