History:

Grant is an ordinary guy, fairly bright, but without much in the way of ambition. After a rather lackadaisical stint in the Army after high school, he joined the NYPD, where he worked as a beat cop. He made detective at an extremely young age, but in the process grew apart from his wife, who divorced him - nastily - a few years ago.

His abilities come from an illegal experiment carried out when he was only two years old, and in the hospital after being run over by a car. A mad doctor implanted part of a Hound of Tindalos' brain into Grant's skull, before being torn to shreds by that Hounds' friends. No records of the experiment exist, and he cannot even remember it happening - as far as he knows, he's always had his abilities. He keeps them secret, because the right time and place to reveal them hasn't come.

Grant made the newspapers a few years ago when he fired a shotgun through the window of a drug den, killing one suspect and maiming two users. The NYPD's internal review board cleared him of wrongdoing, though not until after extensive inquiry and an attendant long suspension.

After spending six months as head of the Parahuman Investigation Division of the NYPD, Grant was stabbed in the leg by a junkie one afternoon in Central Park, and retired from the force rather than take a desk job. He is currently in charge of Sutton Consulting, an investigation and consulting firm specializing in mutant issues.

Height: 5'11" Weight: Average
Eyes: Dark blue Hair: Brown
Unusual physical characteristics: None overtly. Exploratory brain surgery would reveal some serious problems.
Strength level: Grant's strength level is currently exceptional, though not superhuman, thanks to his continued association with Caterina Quintero.
Known superhuman powers: Grant possesses the ability to spot and evaluate the relationships between human beings, which lie along alien geometries indetectable by human minds. He also has an unconscious immunity to missile weapons, including guns, as his Hound hindbrain will shift him through time for the millisecond necessary for the missile to pass through him.
Other abilities:
Weapons and paraphernalia: Grant still carries a gun, to which he's added some nice pepper spray. He still has access to plenty of interesting equipment via his work. At home, he has a fifty-gallon tropical fish tank and a chess set.
