History:
Fritz Von Florien was born in West Village Germany on February 11, 1978; Son of Hassen Von Florien and Lisa Murphy. Life was simple for the lower class German family, Lisa teaching the kindergarten classes and Hassen making a living as a tailor in the small town. Fritz was always big for his age, always being more physically mature than his peers. When Fritz turned eight he started working a local farmstead with a friend of the family, and he accomplished the same duties and physical labor a 14 year old should have. When he hit junior high his father entered him into a junior boxing league at which he excelled and became a local legend. When he Turned 13 a talent scout noticed the boys size and natural ability and thought that U.S. colleges could use him in the future and offered to take Fritz to a private Junior high in the States with a full scholarship, understanding that the boy would play sports.
Hassen realizing what an opportunity this was for his son agreed and convinced his wife to allow Fritz to attend School in America. At the age of 13 Fritz had the physique of a 16 year old athlete and excelled under a heavy workload of physical training at the Bryan School for Boys in Upstate Colorado. It was here that Fritz discovered his football potential. Because of his size, and the fact that he was always competing in the more difficult divisions, his friends tended to be older, a little meaner, and a little more morally ambiguous than what Fritz should have been exposed to.
It started with shoplifting, then to destruction of property and eventually assault. Fritz slowly became a typical rebellious troubled teen... During his 14th year his sports potential truly kicked in. With his natural size and advantage over kids in his normal age group he ruled the private boxing circuit and helped his football team to the state finals. The next year he entered Denver Lake Academy for Boys, a private high school, funded by a few private donors and a full athletic scholarship. His parents did not visit much during this time in his life, they were busy making their own living in Germany, but they did write him often.
During Fritz's sophomore year, a few friends of his decide to enter him into a pit fighting tournament at an old warehouse in Boulder Colorado. People were there to fight, earn their money, and make bets. His friends were the children of rich parents so they could afford the 500 dollar minimum bets. After watching a particularly brutal fight where the loser was dragged away, limp and half dead, Fritz bet his friends that he could walk in that ring and not only win the fight, but do it in three hits. At the end of that night, Fritz ended up in the hospital with 2 stab wounds to the arm, a dislocated shoulder, a black eye, and severely bruised ribs. He was the first person ever in the history of that event, to defeat 6 challengers in a row. His pit fighting career introduced him to the darker side of life. He discovered women and dabbled in a small amount of drug use. He loved the trill of crushing someone beneath him, forcing anyone to his will. A year passes and Fritz's grades, which were mediocre at best, take a nosedive, but due to his talent as an athlete, he started receiving special treatment and was passed.
This ride eventually pulled in a scholarship to Notre Dame. He did the college proud and broke many of the yardage records and tackle records that was held by the school. His first year there he competed in boxing and made it to the nationals, but had to pull out before the semi final bout because he heard that they were doing drug tests on all remaining contestants and he was under the influence of a mild steroids. Six months later he came under investigation by the national academic board and was found guilty of accepting gifts, receiving altered grades and breaking scholarship requirements with his criminal activities. He was expelled and he was forbidden from ever playing a college level sports again. Because his background the NFL never approached him and neither did the National Boxing League. Frustrated and upset, Fritz headed for New York City, hoping to get lost and his past forgotten amongst the multi million number population.
