History:
David Charles Haller was born almost seven months to the day that his father, Charles Xavier, left Israel and his mother, Gabrielle Haller. As a young child, Gabrielle doted on her son, and many others came up to her during his infancy to tell her what a beautiful child her son was. David grew up learning to speak two languages, the language of his native Israel, as well as English. Over the years, he'd overheard many references to the mental illness that Gabrielle had suffered from, and that it was handed down in her family.
David and Gabrielle lived in Israel for several more years, until Gabrielle began to make plans to raise her son in America. The village they lived in was sorry to see them go, but Gabrielle was determined to do the best for her son. As a young child, David was extremely well behaved, especially after their move to the U.S. For several years they lived in Florida, his mother working part time in a theme park to make ends meet.
Enrolling into school at the age of six, David's accent soon vanished as he was surrounded by other children without them. He was teased for the way he spoke at first, but managed to win over most of his classmates after awhile. He mimiced the way the other kids spoke, and soon was speaking without the accent he and his mother both possessed. Soon, Gabrielle's accent dulled, and vanished as well.
In school, David was well liked, and was extremely quick in his school work. Even in junior high, David seemed to live the life that others envied. He was reasonably good looking, got good grades, was well liked by his classmates, and seemed to have a good home life. This is a trend that seems to have only gotten worse, not better, since then. In terms of appearances, David is what guys want to be like, and who the girls want to be with. However, the real thing was actually far different than the perception. With the onset of puberty, David's world became more about the appearance he gave in public, and the way things really were.
David's mutant abilities, coupled with his own nature developed into his current personality in tandem. He was a naturally serious child, and his growing beliefs that he was going to inherit the 'crazy' gene had him more introspective than he would have been in a perfect world. The onset of puberty brought changes to him, as he heard the first of the 'voices.' Comments about him, whispered in his ear, even when no one was around. He tried to shrug off these instances, but whenever they hit, he developed a cloying sense of claustrophobia, finding the need to get out in the open, out of whatever room he was in. It only lasted so long as it took to get himself under control in these instances, and any other time he could be in a cramped closet without fear. However, when he fears the voices, the feeling triggers, and he has to get away.
After having going to college part time to get her own degree, Gabrielle moved herself and David to Connecticut, where she attended school in Stamford during the evenings. David started a new school at the beginning of his eighth grade year, and quickly made friends.
In high school, while he traveled with the popular clique, David kept a part of himself closed off. For many reasons: it was safer for him, safer for them, and the fact that he didn't think anyone could understand what he was going through. Tensions at home grew worse, and David and his mother began to fight with more and more frequency. And in the midst of these fights, mostly about whether or not David should be allowed to do something or go somewhere, odd things would happen. Sometimes. Pictures falling off the mantel while David was yelling, things rattling. David rarely took notice of it, although his mother did. While she didn't treat her son any differently, she was more wary around him.
David was an excellent student all through high school, and wound up graduating as the Salutatorian of his class. During his senior year, David got a scholarship to Columbia University, where he eventually enrolled. As far as a degree goes, he's remained Undeclared for the better portion of his college career, and is still waiting for that one illuminating moment when he knows what he wants to do. He has some aptitude when it comes to science, but he also has a varied list of interests, and none of which have grabbed him as 'right.' He has already spent a year and a half at the school, and is currently a sophomore. However, he just wrapped up the last semester, which he spent abroad, studying in Paris.
David still has episodes where he hears the voices, and they have been growing in frequency since moving to college. He sees it as proof that he is starting on his way to being crazy, but keeps that secret locked up tight. He doesn't open up to many, preferring to keep his thoughts and worries to himself.

that he possesses two different colored eyes (blue and green), not

Strength level: David possesses the normal strength level for
a man with his height and build, who engages in daily physical exercise.
Known superhuman powers: Dave is primarily a psion, which
is no surprise given that his father is one of the foremost telepaths
in the world. His abilities have barely manifested themselves at
this point, however he is trying to learn the scope of what he's
capable. He is telepathic, telekinetic, and pyrokinetic. His potential
will possibly rival his fathers, if not surpass it, if given years of
practice and training. When he gets angry, his powers tend to
lash out, predominantly his abilities in telekinesis and
pyrokinesis. One offshoot of his telepathy is that Dave hears
what we most fear: what other people think of him. He cannot control
the ability, and views it as some sort of manifestation of the mental
illness he was born with.
