History:

When Jessica Donaldson gave birth to her first, and only child she was alone in the hospital room. Without the support of her distant family and recently having separated from the child's father, she was left with no one to turn to. For three years she tried to make it on her own. Working herself ragged and finding little time to spend with her baby convinced her that she needed help. She found comfort once more with the baby's father, Eric Trinity. The next year, they were married.

While Mr. Trinity ran his household strictly, there was always food on the table and a roof over their heads. Alexis was growing up fast. She was not permitted to attend public school, going into a homeschooling program from first grade. Nor was she allowed to interact much with the neighborhood kids because they played in the streets like hooligans and hung out in 'gangs'. Her social circle was mainly her parents and the TV. She loved television, movies and the world of make believe. She and her mother would watch old films on lazy Sundays and of all the great stars she admired, her favorite by far was Shirley Temple. Lexi would often mimic scenes, sing and dance around the house and Jessica did what she could to nurture that talent despite discouraging remarks from her husband that it was all a waste.

Alexis was eight years old when her mother died, killed in a crossfire of gang warfare. Both father and daughter had a difficult time of dealing with the loss but Eric soon found ways of comforting his own pain. He began to regale stories of memories and times with her mother to Lex and at first, it was nice. But the tales started to take on an uncomfortably intimate turn. He would take her close, remind the girl how much like her mother she was, how beautiful and how much he missed her. He would even cry sometimes and Lexi didn't know what to do, but she didn't want him to be so sad. He told her there was a way he wouldn't miss her mother so much and asked his child to help him. She, of course agreed, having no idea at the time what the task would entail. Then he kissed her, in a most unfatherly fashion.

She was confused as the months and then years went on and he continued to take his love and comfort from her in her bed. Eventually, he become less loving and more strict again. Then the nature of her relationship with this man changed once more from father, to lover, to dealer. The first time she was sold for the night to another man she had never felt such betrayal and hatred. If she refused to go out, she would be punished, sometimes as meagerly as a grounding or other times receiving physical injuries. But her confidence was stomped into the ground. By the age of twelve, this become her life and only in moments of solitude and peace could she dream of something more. To lay on the sofa and watch old movies until dawn, singing along with 'goodship lollipop' is one of her greatest joys.

Three months after her twelfth birthday, Alexis was forced to abort a pregnancy. The procedure caused lacerations that caused her to bleed internally. She was walking home through Harlem when she suddenly felt to weak to stand. Found by Caterina Quintero, she was promptly taken to the woman's underground clinic. There she recived care for her injury and became friends with the woman whom she belives saved her life that night.
