History:
Adam Wright was born to your average family, on Long Island, New York. His father was a cop, who commuted to and from the city every day, and his mother was a teacher. So really there wasn't much about his early life. He live with his parents, and his sister who was 3 years older than him. He went to school, had some friends, and really that's about it for that part. He did good in school, mostly because of his mom being a teacher, a lot of pressure was on the kids to perform well in school. However even when he was young, Adam always knew what he was going to do when he grew up, and that was follow in his father's footsteps.
So life went on normally for him, and after a while when his sister got old enough, his parents allowed his sister to be in charge of the house while they were both at work. And because of that, Adam and Gabrielle Wright got close to one another. However when Adam was 15 tragedy struck his family. His sister just went missing, and no one know what happened to her, she just never showed up home from school one day, what made it really strange. Some people thought a person his father helped put behind bars kidnapped her, or that she ran away. But the fact remained, no matter how hard she was looked for, no one could find any hint of where she went to. Eventually the case was put into the cold case area, since they just had nothing to go on.
After that Adam was depressed of course, the person he loved the most in the world, and looked up to the most, was gone from his life. However since he knew she wouldn't want him to constantly think about her, since there isn't much he would be able to do. However has he tried to go on with his life, but his sister was always in his mind, and he could never forget about her. After he graduated High School, Adam was all set to go into the police academy right away, his mother and his father convinced him otherwise though. They talked him into getting at least a two year degree from the Community college, in Criminal Justice, which would help him move up the ranks in the police force.
After getting his two year degree, Adam was accepted into the Police Academy, to become part of the NYCPD. He went to the academy, and completed the training. Then he did what any other rookie cop would do, spent time with a more experienced officer, while learning the ropes of how to be a cop. It was during that time, that he started to get noticed. It was discovered that he had a very interesting gift. He always seemed to find clues that even the most experienced detectives would miss out on. And that was something that didn't go unnoticed by the people who were around him.
When he was eligible, a lot of his fellow officers, encouraged Adam to go and take the detective exam, which he passed with flying colors. He was placed in one of the openings available for a detective, working the homicide cases. He was very successful at this thanks to his innate ability. He always found the clues he needed. He was just naturally good at what he did, there was no question about it. Until one time that is.
He was investigating the murder of a young lady, in a nice up class apartment. Through his investigation, he uncovered that she was actually a kept woman, the mistress of a prominent corporate lawyer in the city. Well the clues he found all pointed towards the fact that she was tired of being a kept woman and wanted more out of it. So he thought she threatened to tell the lawyers wife, and was killed for it. It turns out that he was wrong though, the lawyer was innocent, and the crime was really just a random burglary. Of course after that he was a little discouraged, but he kept going on, thanks to the friends that he had. But than even that had to come to an end eventually.
Investigating another murder, since he was still in homicide, there was a tragedy. They were just going some place to interview a guy, that's all it was supposed to be, just a simple interview. Unfortunately, it turned out more than that. They person they needed to interview, was a friend of the deceased, but he was into some illegal things as well, mostly drugs. When he saw the police knocking on his door, he didn't ask any questions and opened fire through the door. Adam only got a small flesh wound, he was the lucky one. His partner took two direct hits, one of them through the neck, he didn't survive of course. Adam wasn't at fault, no one could, except for Adam himself.
After the death of his partner Adam decided that he couldn^Òt stay on the force anymore. He always had thoughts that there was something else that he could have done to help his partner, and stop him from getting shot. But he knew that he had a gift, and decided that the best thing for him to do would become a Private Investigator. He used some money that he had saved up and opened up a small office in New York, and shortly after he got his first big break. Some distraught parents had a daughter who has been missing for 3 years, but have never given up hope on her being found. After hearing the story, Adam decided to do the case pro bono. Once he started the investigation, he stumbled on a break that the cops overlooked. The girls parents left her room exactly as she left it, and that's what he used. He found some old emails that she was sending back and forth with someone, and from what she wrote, it seemed she really cared for him. Using some sources, he tracked the email address down, and found out it was in Florida. It turns out the girl ran away to live with this guy down there. Of course he went down there to find her, and well he actually ran into her on the street when she came up to ask for money. Turns out once she met the guy, things didn^Òt work out like she thought, and she ran away from him, but after she ran away from home, she was afraid her parent^Òs wouldn^Òt want her around anymore, so she stayed down there, panhandling. Well Adam brought her back to New York, and that one case did help to make him as a PI. He solved a 3 year old case, that no one was able to figure out, and he became a well known PI because of it.
