New Mutants #6 - "Dead Language, Necrosha: New Mutants, Chapter 1"

Doug Ramsey comes back from the dead to attack the New Mutants.
That's the summary. And, as story plots go, it sounds pretty schlocky, part of a crossover that seems planned more for a gimmick than a good story.
Yet, Wells does a good job here, both in the reactions to the event itself, but also the smaller moments before it, a reunion with the class' first teacher. Although Wells probably does err on the side of making a returned Doug too powerful, it's an interesting extrapolation of his abilities nonetheless (if, as I suspect, the storyline is a means to return the character on a more permanent basis, I do hope they tone down the combat prowess), and Wells does good work with his zombified view of the world, through the lens of his powers.
Because of the means of the resurrection, in stories like this, it's hard to really feel that it is the character who's been revived, as opposed to the character's body and powers plus an evil force controlling its every move. But it's interesting enough that it makes an enjoyable tale regardless.
