Dracula invites Doctor Doom to his secret moonbase, to work out a non-aggression pact, because the vampire prince wants to take over Britain.
Yes, you read that right. Dracula has a secret moonbase. What's more, he launches killer vampires ballistically to the Earth. If that isn't enough to get you interested in a comic, I don't know what is.
Even beyond the main plot, which has me engaged (I think it was at the point Dracula had a moonbase) despite the fact that it has vampires, the rest of the issue works pretty well too. We get a bit of character interaction, and even some attention is paid to a (possible) continuity problem what with both the Black Knight and Black Panther possessing the Ebony Blade. Whether it was planned all along or a patch to the problem, it's handled smoothly enough and it's nice tp know it's not simply being ignored.
The only thing that feels a little off is the Blade/Spitfire interactions, although I'm not familiar enough with either character to judge for sure, it just doesn't feel right. It also gets potentially a bit too violent, too fast, but we'll have to see how the next issue handles things to judge for sure.
Still, fairly enjoyable, as usual.
