This is our 272nd edition. Two books this week. The maybes from last week turned out to be reprints of earlier stories rather than new material, so obviously they went into the new category. Also, since I'm running a little late, reviews will be short.
This week we have...
NYX: No Way Home #2 (of 6) (Writer: Marjorie Liu, Artist: Kalman
Andrasofszky, Colors: John Rauch)
(jump to last issue of Runaways)
After discovering Cameron missing and blood all over her apartment, Kiden and her friends have to decide what to do... try and see if there's a way to help her, or turn their backs and just survive.
Now that we're in the main plot of the mini, it's a little better, although still feels disconnected from the last mini in many ways. Still, before I read the issue I was contemplating dropping it if the issue didn't interest me, and now I'm just interested enough to keep going, so that's something.

Xavin's old teacher joins the fray, and Xavin must face him alone
if he's to help his friends and rescue Prince Dorrek (also known
as Hulkling).
The storyline wraps up to a certain degree, but only the crossover
aspect. The Skrull invasion doesn't end in the issue, only the
Runaways involvement in the battle. Also, we don't get any more
of the Young Avengers involved. This really is a Runaways story
with a few of the Young Avengers guest starring rather than a full
crossover. And that's a little disappointing, because I wanted to
see more interaction between the two teams. There's a little of
it (particularly some more nice scenes with Tommy and Molly), but
sadly not enough to match what I wanted out of the mini.
The action's not bad, although Miyazawa's art isn't the best for
portraying it, and sometimes it seems a little confusing. I
suppose I'll make it my Pick of the Week though.

Well, that's it for this week folks. Next week, according to the
shipping list, there's Uncanny X-Men #502 and Captain Britain and
MI13 #5, and on the maybe list, Young X-Men #6 and X-Factor #35.
See you next time...
