This is our 255th edition, only one book this week though.
This week we have...
Serenity: Better Days #2 - (Story by: Joss Whedon and Brett Matthews,
Art by: Will Conrad, Colors by: Michelle
Madsen)
(jump to last issue)
Now that they're rich, the crew of Serenity discuss what they're going to do with the money and enjoy some needed relaxation. However, someone is looking for Mal, because of something that happened long ago.
I don't have a whole lot to say on the issue. It did succeed in carrying some of the character of the crew's interactions, however not a lot really happens in the issue either.
It does hit on one of my pet peeves, where people's stories are portrayed visually and everybody reacts as though they actually saw a vision, rather than heard what was being described, complete with commenting on small things like the way characters were dressed.
My other problem is a similar one to the last mini. The plot seems to come down to people hunting Malcolm Reynolds for very good reasons that would unlikely to just be forgotten, and yet it doesn't really mesh with the movie. In the movie we never got the impression that Malcolm Reynolds had attracted any personal attention whatsoever until they activated River and learned she was with them. He doesn't seem to be wanted for any war crimes (although it's possible he gets exonerated in the last issue). It's not as bad as the last mini (where the Blue Hand Group, among others, seemed to have already known that River was with them and apparently decided never to bother letting anyone else know), but it's still a concern.
Still, it's relatively pleasant, and there were a few good moments.

Well, that's it for this week folks. Next week, according to the shipping list, there's just two or possibly three books. There's Avengers: The Initiative #11, X-Factor #30, and maybe X-Men: Divided We Stand #1.
See you next time...
