Unreachable Star Reviews November 12th, 2008 (SPOILERS)

This is our 277th edition. Been a couple weeks since the last set of reviews again. Just one book this week, and it'll be a short review.

This week we have...

-

Captain Britain and MI:13 #7 - "Hell Comes to Birmingham, Part Two" (Writer: Paul Cornell, Penciler: Leonard Kirk, Inkers: Michael Bair with Jay Leisten and Craig Yeung, Colorists: Brian Reber with John Rauch)
(jump to last issue)

MI:13 must deal with Mindless Ones and the mysterious Plotka, who offers you your heart's desire... at a cost.

While it's an okay issue, it does suffer slightly from the overall plot, and being a middle part of that plot. Characters being tempted with their heart's desire is a classic plot, but it's hard to get excited about it in comic form, particularly where, as in this case, it's a large part of the individual issue. What might work well as a part of a longer story is weaker when cut into small pieces. That's not to say seeing people witness with their heart's desire isn't interesting, it just the type of element that holds few surprises.

So, it's a little weaker than the usual issue of the title, but I'm still enjoying the series as a whole.

Well, that's it for this week folks. Next week, according to the shipping list, it's another skip week.

See you next time...
